I’m Michael, a Writer, Journalist, Marketer, Communications professional, and Multimedia Artist with a background in storytelling, media production, and digital communications. My creative work spans writing, film, visual media, and experimental music, with a particular interest in storytelling, atmosphere, and the ways different forms of media can work together.
I began my professional career publishing video stories while enrolled as a senior at Indiana State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication and studied screenwriting.
During my time at Indiana State, I worked as a producer for the ISU Student Center for Research and Creativity, producing video stories and developing hands-on experience in narrative storytelling and media production. In 2010, I studied abroad at Trinity College in Carmarthen, Wales, taking courses in film narratives and film adaptations.
Since starting a freelance career in the spring of 2015, I have worked independently and through numerous online publishing platforms with a wide range of clients. My writing has focused on journalism, technology, social media, big data, the Internet of Things, and digital culture.
Alongside my professional writing, I have a longstanding passion for screenwriting and original storytelling. I began writing a screenplay in 2014 that I am now developing into a novel. My screenplay The Dark Moon earned a scholarship to the Rocaberti Writers’ Retreat, where I participated in a mentorship. My most recent script is Uninvited, a drama-thriller short completed in 2026.
Music is another important part of my creative work. I direct Geisterjungen, an experimental music project through which I explore sound, mood, texture, and unconventional approaches to composition. The project grew out of the same creative interests that inform my writing and filmmaking: creating atmosphere, telling stories, and experimenting with different ways of communicating an idea or emotion.

I am currently based in New Goshen, Indiana. I have experience in both traditional and digital communications. I am adept at design and content creation using WordPress, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite. This has included writing, editing, and digital content production for online audiences.
In my free time
I enjoy; art, music, movies, television, news, technology, Earl Grey Tea (with milk), old-school video games, cycling, exercising, and being outdoors. I studied abroad in Wales during my undergrad and continue to value travel and cultural experiences.
